A transformational educational movement and focus for the children of Alabama’s Black Belt that ensures schools are:

  • Adequately funded
  • Staffed with highly qualified teachers
  • Exceptional facilities
  • Equipped with advanced technological tools

So that upon graduation, graduates are increasingly career ready and able to revitalize historically impoverished communities.

Young people will also be challenged more extensively in a well-rounded educational experience that includes:

  • Expanded opportunities in the arts
  • Pathways to stable and productive employment
  • Students that are of sound mind and body.

BBCM_b&wIn approaching the designing of the Black Belt Children Matter logo, we decided to juxtapose the creative alongside the logo for the Black Belt Community Foundation; while using typefaces that made the logo feel like a national movement. To do this, we were inspired by Black Entertainment Television. This approach helps gives the logo an appeal that emotes to the rural beauty of the Black Belt region, while also appearing surprisingly forward leaning.
