We would like to give a hearty SHOUT OUT to one of our own!!

Mustafaa Tajuddin, who is a community volunteer on the Black Belt Community Foundations’ Black Belt Arts Alive! Committee, has been accepted as a founding member of the Junior Arts Education Leadership Team.

The Alabama Arts Education Leadership Team is expanding and has selected 20 high school and college students to be a part of a junior “think tank”.  These students were selected statewide based on their leadership skills, creativity and community service/volunteerism.  The Alabama Arts Education Leadership Team is a partnership between the Alabama State Department of Education and the Alabama State Council on the Arts. It was established in September 2013, as a task force to develop a comprehensive plan for arts education, and to create conditions and coalitions to most effectively implement that plan. The mission of the Arts Education Leadership Team and the Junior Arts Education Leadership Team to provide fully-funded high-quality arts education that enlightens, inspires, and develops in every Alabama student the creative and innovative thinking necessary to ensure college and career readiness.

Mustafaa will be working with the Arts Education Leadership Team Membership Executive Leaders:  Dr. Tommy Bice, State Superintendent, Alabama State Department of Education Al Head, Executive Director, Alabama State Council on the Arts and other arts education leaders across the state of Alabama.

Congratulations to you!  We at the Black Belt Community Foundation are proud of your accomplishments!
