2025 Arts & Community Grant Awards Ceremony

SELMA, AL (May 3, 2025) – The Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF) proudly hosted its annual Arts & Community Grant Awards Ceremony, celebrating the spirit of collaboration, empowerment, and local leadership across Alabama’s Black Belt region. The event marked another significant milestone in the foundation’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communities through grassroots investments. This year, BBCF awarded 102 community-based grants, totaling $228,808.48, and 37 arts grants, totaling more than $90,000, to a wide range of non-profit organizations, grassroots, and civic groups operating throughout the 12-county Black Belt region. These grants will support projects and initiatives in areas such as education, youth development, community development, health and wellness, and environmental stewardship. The ceremony provided an opportunity for grantees, community leaders, board members, and supporters to come together in celebration of the impactful work being done by local organizations and volunteers. BBCF leadership expressed deep gratitude to its donors, funding partners, and community stewards whose continued support makes these annual investments possible. The 2025 Arts & Community Grant Ceremony highlighted the foundation’s belief in “taking what we have to make what we need.” By equipping grassroots groups with resources to address local priorities, BBCF continues to uplift the resilience, creativity, and leadership that exist within Black Belt communities.
