2025 William & Geraldine Curry Scholarship for Academic and Community Leadership
Marengo County, AL High School Students Eligible
The Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF) is proud to announce the opening of the 2025 William & Geraldine Curry Scholarship for Academic and Community Leadership. This prestigious scholarship is open to high school seniors in Marengo County, Alabama, who have been accepted or are applying to college.
Established in 2019, the William & Geraldine Curry Scholarship for Academic and Community Leadership honors both Reverend William Curry and his wife, Geraldine for their lifelong dedication to uplifting the youth of Marengo County. A native of Linden, Alabama, Rev. Curry was a devoted servant leader. Inspired by their commitment, Dr. Art Dunning and Taylor Jones partnered with BBCF to establish this scholarship, ensuring the Curry legacy continues by supporting the next generation of servant leaders.
Empowering Future Leaders: The William & Geraldine Curry Scholarship recognizes high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to serving their communities. “This scholarship is more than financial support—it’s an investment in the future of the Black Belt,” said Felecia Lucky, CEO & President of BBCF. “We are excited to continue honoring Reverend Curry’s legacy by empowering young leaders to achieve their dreams and contribute back to their home communities after completing their education.”
