Give back to the Black Belt in Honor of John Zippert's 80th Birthday

Donate to John Zippert's 80th Birthday Fund!

John Zippert, BBCF Greene County Community Associate, is turning 80 this year, and is asking for something that lasts longer than any gift: an investment in the Black Belt.

In lieu of birthday presents, please consider a donation to the Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF). For more than 20 years, BBCF has put resources directly into the hands of grassroots leaders across 12 counties—supporting education, the arts, health, disaster recovery, and economic opportunity.

Your gift—of any size—moves the needle.

Through this special birthday initiative, Mr. Zippert is supporting eight remarkable organizations that have shaped his journey and continue to strengthen our communities:

  1. Alabama New South Coalition
  2. Black Belt Community Foundation
  3. Federation of Southern Cooperatives/LAF
  4. Greene County Democrat – Investigative Journalism Fund
  5. Greene County Health System Foundation
  6. Rural Coalition
  7. Rural Development Leadership Network and
  8. Southern Partners Fund

Your donation helps advance the important work of these institutions — from cooperative development and racial equity to rural health and community-led philanthropy. Together, we celebrate Mr. Zippert’s legacy of leadership and his ongoing commitment to empowering others to “take what we have to make what we need.”
